Roll Perforators
By Michael Waters
I have been reading with keen interest all the information coming in regarding perforators as I am working on producing one of my own, (as those of you who have visited my home page would know).
The idea of having a single cutting head is not new to me, as this has been the debate in my mind for some time now. Trying to decide which is the best way to go (ie. 100 punches or just 1 ) with not knowing how long it would take to cut one roll. But after Robert Hopps description I think it's the way to go. I honestly didn't think anyone had actually managed to do it already!!!...let alone two of them!!!
My aim is to be able to re-cut those rare re-producing rolls, to have a perforator that is easily transported (to another collectors home) and do a "one of" re-cut for my own collection. Being able to cut rolls of my own via midi is also an idea I'd like to incorparate into it as well. I'm looking forward in hearing more from Robert in regard to this.
To date all I have done is managed to get all the info together that I need to start the project, this line of discussion has changed a few of my ideas and I am looking forward to more on the subject.
Regards
