Introduction
By Jesse Masin
Hi Jody,
I appreciate your response. I am impressed by your efforts and am excited to see all the interest in this area....
As way of introduction I recall growing up helping my father rebuild all sorts machines from pianos, nickelodeons, to organs. Even my summer job as a teenager was operating a merry-go-round with a functional Wurlitzer organ. At the moment I am in the process of rebuilding a Stroud Duo-Art Upright. I'm new to the Internet and found your site as a link on a home page that I'll look up later for you. Several of the past articles in your archives would be of interest and I'll attempt to look them up with the instructions you sent...
I'm currently trying to figure out how to access music libraries, to be able to find copies of particular songs -- Broken Promises, Pal of My Cradle Days, Scatterbrain -- in sheet music or Midi format for those in my family that play a variety of instruments. The other thing I am trying to figure out is how to make copies of some of my favorite old rolls (without having to order 6-10 copies!). I'll keep reading your newsletters with interest. Thanks!
Jesse
[ Ed. Note: Welcome aboard, Jesse. I have in my music collection [ "Broken Promises", by Clancy Hayes & Daphne King. [ Is that the song you seek? [ For short-run roll-copying services see the list of "Mechanical [ Music Sources" at the end of Digest 96.07.31. [ -- Robbie
