Update on the Stanley Brinsmead Pianola.
It appears to have been last restored in 1977
I have now started on the rebuild, Initial survey indicates that the
bellows are generally in good condition, 7 of the key bellows, and the
air motor bellows have been eaten by mice and I found a mouse nest under
the keyboard.
System has a transposition lever at right of roll which moves the tracker
bar either to left or right.
Connection between the key bellows and tracker bar is via lead pipes,
system appears to have a Themeodist, Main problems are with the case
which had suffered from damp with sections of veneer lifting, this I am
now fixing.
I am going to get a piano tuner to inspect the piano action to establish
what need to be refurbished.
It good to hear from the other like minds
