Report from Christies Sale in UK
By Brian Chesters
Hi there Listers.
Just a few things from the UK.
I did say I would let people know of any thing of interest in any sales here in England, Well the last Christies sale was a bit disappointing unless you like Phonographs, of which there were a lot. One thing there was which I had not seen before was an Apollophone Player piano upright. by Melville Clark of Chicago, Seemed to be a standard 88 note player with a door to the left of the spool box opening to reveal the turntable for the phonograph.
Perhaps Jody can tell us how many list readers there are now.
[ Editor's Note: approximately 295 !
My Collard & Collard Ampico upright is now in working order and playing quite nicely. I must find some more rolls for it.
There now follows a blatant advert...
For sale, Stella 17 inch double comb musical box on stand in working order. Price 2800 GB pounds. Can ship anywhere.
Also, Hopkinson Ampico grand player in reasonable unrestored condition with matching duet stool. Price 1500 GB pounds.
All the best from the UK.
