Introduction
By Rick Cooley

Dear Friends,

I am a newcomer to the group so let me give you a little information. I need your help and in reviewing the last week of notes, perhaps I can help some of you.

My wife and I have been collectors (who buy and sometimes sell) since 1968. We have collected/owned many of the major music boxes, violin machines and orchestrions during those years. Until I retired in 1990, my wife and I did our own restorations, i.e., band organs, reproducers (Welte, Duo-Art, AMPICO, Recordo's, etc.) music boxes, violin machines (Mills single and doubles)., orchestrions (Seeburg "H", "G", "K", "KT", "KT Special". With retirement, we were just so busy that we now "farm out" all our restorations. We love all the machines.....ANYTHING THAT WILL PRODUCE MUSIC AUTOMATICALLY and have a fairly large inventory at the moment. I am the past Chairman of the National Capital Chapter of the MBSI and just returned from the Mid-America Chapter Band Organ Rally in New York. For those who missed it, it was a blast. The MID-AM chapter does a great job!!!!

I have only reviewed a very small portion of the mail that has been sent out since 1995 but I may be able to help a few folks if they still need it.

I have the following for sale or trade:

1. 40-50 of the 116 note Aeolian Organ Rolls...They are my duplicates
from a 400 roll collection and are all very playable.

2. 20-30 orchestrion rolls ("O", "G", etc....)

3. Music box disks.....(Troubador, Regina--most sizes), Polyphon,
Symphonium (a few sets of Eroica disks), Kalliope, etc.........

4. Although we are rebuilding our inventory during 1996 (we have added
a calliope, band organs and 6 orchestrions), it will be reopened for
sales during 1997. Let us know if you want a listing of the 160
pieces.

Now, we could use your help, as well:

1. We need LOSCHE flute/violin orchestrion rolls. This roll also works
on the Model 4 Losche with traps on top. I believe it is the 69
hole tracker bar roll. We would buy or swap the above for playable
condition rolls.

2. APP Wurlitzer rolls are needed for our Style "O" Wurlitzer
Photoplayer now in restoration.

3. We have a Frati (1901) tall-case orchestrion with xylophone and
violin pipes and need more playable, multi-tune rolls.

4. Have any cobs for a Concert Roller organ. We need a dozen or
so.....

5. Got a GRAND ROLLER ORGAN for sale??? Do you have any of the large
Cobs for sale???

I realize that much more information is needed to be sure you have rolls that will work and will be glad to provide such, if needed. Please us know what you have for sale or swap.

I noticed that several members of this group are looking for Violano rolls??? Dick Hack (working with PlayRite) has just produced many hundreds of GREAT Violano roll recuts for group subscribers. He is currently searching for subcribers for another, different set of rolls. In the meantime, he has several hundred rolls that he is selling as singles, right off of the shelf. These recuts are excellent and are being sold for $100 US (plus postage) for a ten-tune roll of waltzes, foxtrots, tangos, etc. etc. etc., and, of course, classical and semi-classical.

For the person looking for rolls for a Model 1500 Player Organ..... I think we have a dozen or so from our previously owned Model 1500 that are available for swapping or perhaps sale.

Another request, if I may???? Does anyone have the tubing diagram for the Welte ORIGINAL Reproducer Grand (not "Licensee" which is quite different)
particularilly the stack cutoff/reroll box and the 16 nipple left and right expression boxes???? I have an ORIGINAL Welte that is refinished, rebuilt and playing automatically BUT the above still needs to be completed. Any assistance? I have contacted many of the "experts" in the Original and all but one said, "Get lost" and didn't have time to advise.

Any interest in the above "stuff" should be directed to RCCXX@AOL.COM or
