Mail to Japan Bounces
By Brian Chesters
Hi there Jody,
I tried to contact one of the new subscribers the other day but the mail came bouncing back home. I sent it to noritaku@nnc.or.jp. Do I have the wrong address?
For those interested in musical boxes, There were two in an auction last week in the UK. They were both Grand Format Overture boxes by Nicole Freres and one was an Air and variations box. I left a bid on the phone but was unsuccesful. Never mind, perhaps next time.
All the best. Brian.
[ Editor's Note: Norikatu Hamaiso is not a subscriber to this group. [ Norikatu's name and e-mail address were quoted by Jake Kane [ in a message he sent to Norikatu and CC'd to us. I do not [ know if the address is valid. I would invite you to send [ a copy of the "bounce" message to "rollreq@foxtail.com" [ so that I can take a look at it. [ [ Many US based e-mail systems are so brain damaged that they [ cannot send to non-US domains. If you have such a defective [ e-mail system, you can still send message to the rest [ of the world by having another site forward them for you. [ Anyone who reads this group has my permission to use foxtail.com [ for this purpose. To forward mail through foxtail.com, take [ the e-mail address in question and change the @ sign to % and [ then add @foxtail.com to the end. Thus the address [ [ noritaku@nnc.or.jp [ [ becomes [ [ noritaku%nnc.or.jp@foxtail.com [ [ When the message gets to foxtail.com, the @foxtail.com [ part is stripped off and the right-most % is turned into [ an @ sign. Its actually possible this way to send a [ mail message on an intentionally long voyage. [ [ If you forward e-mail through foxtail.com and get a bounce, [ please send the bounce message (with all of the headers) to [ rollreq@foxtail.com and I'll take a look at the failure on [ a "time available" basis. [ [ Jody
