Re: Voicing Wooden Pipes
By Matthew Caulfield

Dave Clark asked about wooden pipe voicing. The pipe organ people probably would be a good source of information, as Jody suggested. But Dave should keep in mind that band organ pipes are blown at significantly higher pressure than pipe organ pipes. Therefore he might want to check whatever he learns against the observations of people who are experienced in building band organs from scratch. Some who have: Ken Smith, Paul Dyer, Steve Lanick, Dave Wasson, and Don Stinson. Since Don is in the band organ building business, he may be very tight-lippedon the subject. All these namesare in the directories, and they will also probably be at the North Tonawanda band organ rally. (I am sending in my reservation today).
