The Knabe piano was a very high quality machine, the near equivalent of a Steinway or Mason and Hamlin piano. While some Knabe's did use a fallboard decal, most of the ones from this era that I have seen, including my own, use the engraved plate on the fallboard so this is not an unusual feature for this piano.
