I just placed an order with Durrell Armstrong at Player Piano Co. I asked him about the kangaroo leather. He says that he had some about two years ago, but it sold out and it's been backordered since then. He has none on hand as of the time I spoke with him (1:00 PM, May 30, 1996). He agrees that it is the best leather for pouches, by far.
Durrell also tells me that this rumor of him closing shop is wrong and can hurt him if it persists. He has no plans to go out of business. I was the second person to mention the rumor to him today. To quote him, "The only way I'm going out of business is if I'm dead."
