Web Browser as Sendmail Tool
By Thomas Henden
Dear Jody!
For about a week now, our mail server has been out of order, and all mail to me has probably been returned.
Please keep me on the list, hopyfully the server will be up again soon. I'll send a note as soon as I'm online again, and ask for the digests that I didn't get. If possible, keep the digests for the last week, so it can be sent to me afterwards, when possible again.
In this connection, I will give the members of the list a tip, although it isn't mechanical music related.
If you ever get trouble with your mailserver, you may still be able to send mail via your webserver, if this still works. Just find a homepage (e.g. your own) where there is a link to send mail. Click this link, and replace the destination address with the one You want. You also have to add your own e-mail address under "preferences" in the options menu (Netscape).
This should work with other netbrowsers too...
It could be vice to tell the receiver of the mail, that Your mailserver is down just now, avoiding confusion whether your mail address is correct or not... ;-)
Sincerely Thomas Henden, Norway.
