By Hans van Oost, forwarded by Robbie Rhodes
Hi, Jody. I wrote to Netherlands asking if someone could correspond with us. I got this reply yesterday. -- Rob

Dear Mr. Rhodes,
I received your letter to Jan van Dinteren today. He asked me to respond, because his knowledge of computers is next to nil. Besides that, as secretary of the Board I do most of the correspondence.
We think that your Internet Group is a very good idea. We should stick together as lovers of those ancient music computers with their wonderful technology! Our "Kring van Draaiorgelvrienden" has no connection with the WWW yet. Within a short time, however, I will have my own E-mail address on the Net. I will send an E-mail to you and Jody as soon as I know this address. By then, you can reach our club there.
I will write a short redactional in our bulletin, "Het Pierement", so the members of the K.D.V. know how to reach you and Jody. The addresses of other clubs in Europe you can find in our latest magazine (April 1996). I hope that you get many lovers of automatic music on the net.
A surprise! I have succeeded to get my dear colleague, friend and co-member of the Board, Tom Meijer, computerized! The Dutch "noteurs" have agreed to a standard MIDI-file for automatic Musical Instruments with which we all work. Tom is using it, too. We work on MS-DOS-compatible machines with Cakewalk Pro for Windows, and we have made programs to convert sounds of these machine in our computers. Tom has abandoned his pencil and paper at last! He sends you his greetings.
I hope that you hear a lot from Europe in a short time. Till E-mailing!
sincerely,
Hans van Oost, general secretary of the KDV Naaldwijkseweg 262 2691 PW 's-Gravenzande tel. 0174-414538 |
