AMICA vs. MBSI?
By Jim Canavan

I'd really like to join one of the groups that everyone here in the AMD always talks about -- MBSI and AMICA. Can any members of the group give a recommendation on which one I should join? I'm located in the Washington DC metro area, and have a collection of 4 phonographs, 2 organettes, and a player piano (and all the associated "software" of course!).Given these interests/specializations, as well as my geographic location, which group would be best to join? I generally do not do much cross-country traveling, so although band organ rallies in Michigan sound incredible, I doubt if I'd seldom or ever get to go to one. I'd be most interested in a group that has an "active" chapter in my general area, as well as which one has the best publication (with good classified ads!).

I know lots of folks will say, "Join both!" but given that I'm also a member of the TCA (Train Collector's Assoc.) -- to feed my other bad habit, Standard Gauge toy trains -- I can't justify spending the dues to join TWO more groups. Any help?

BTW, is anyone else in the group going to the big bi-annual phonograph/auto music show in Bound Brook, NJ on 4/28? Love to meet some of you folks in person!
