Recordo Roll Suggestions
By Steve Harder

I've recently purchased several Recordo recuts from Rock Soup. Ginny Billings has been helpful in suggesting works we would enjoy but I'd like to seek your input as well. As the selection of Recordo rolls are limited I find that I'm unfamiliar with most of these works and their players and some of the composers.

We especially like

#1372 Badinage Victor Herbert Ferdinand Himmelreich
#1023 Jeaux D'Eau Ravel Leopold Godowsky

Can you offer any comments on any of the following. (I realize it is unlikely you will have heard these actual rolls but perhaps you can categorize these works as to their similarity to the ones mentioned above.) We find ourselves enjoying 'tone poems' or contemplative works.

#239 Waltz Opus 17 No3 Moszkowski Ferdinand Himmelreich
#187 En Automne Moszkowski Ivan Kerouak
#279 Sparks(Etincelles) Moszkowski Belle Tannenbaum
#309 Toccata Opus18 No4 Sgambati Paul Van Katwijk
#355 Waltz for Left Hand#3 Ilgenfritz Ilgengritz
#368 Ballet Sentimentale Zamecnik Ilgenfritz
#404 Jeu Des Ondes Leschetizky Mary Angell
#700 Valse Elise Friml Ilgenfritz
#836 Ricordati (Nocturne) Gottschalk Louis Marrier
#1071 Concert Etude in E Flat Major Schloetzer Harold Triggs
#1359 Hefre Kati Opus 32 No 4 Jubay Edward Harris
#1409 Scherzo Chopin Berly Rubinstein
#471 Poet and Peasant Overture Suppe Angell & Hilliard
#988 La Capricieuse Milde Richard Merton
#1204 Pagliacci Prologue Leoncavallo Sturkow-Ryder

Any other comments are certainly welcome. I'd also like to know of any non-Internet Recordo enthusiasts. My main avenue of communication and search has been Internet but I'd like to widen my contacts.
