Introduction

Hello all,
Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Steve Cole and I'm 48, married (20 years), and work as a computer consultant. I have, in past employment, serviced player pianos, done tuning and repair on various types of pianos & players. However, my local area just couldn't support enough work to continue in that line.
I currently have a Haines upright with a Pianocorder system that I installed, and a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-75 wired up to a MIDI/computer system setup. I also have a Wurlitzer player that has been dismantled for restoration for many years. :( I hope to get it going again soon. Finding the time is the problem, especially with the advent of the "net"!
I have been a lover of early Ragtime since I was about 10. I love to play rags and to listen to automated players performing Ragtime/Jazz/Dixieland/Blues as well. I have a friend who collects all sorts of mechanical musical instruments. It's a real joy to visit his warehouse and hear all these beautiful devices "singing" away!
I look forward to chatting with some of you and reading all the latest automated-music "news" from this listserver.
