Re: Welte Orchestrion Rolls
By Brian Chesters
Greetings. I have had several contacts via this group regarding the 75 note rolls that someone in the UK wants me to sell for him. For that reason I have made a list. There are in fact 28 rolls. Please excuse my spelling if its in error.
Rolls number 1, 6, 19, and 22 are from a rare Welte fairground organ.
1 Cake walk, and a coon band contest. 2 Merry widow waltz. 3 Potpourri-Hugenotten. Meyerbeer. 4 La Gazza Ladro o/t Rossini 5 Selection-Maritana-Wallace 6 Dorfchwalben-Strauss. 7 Lebewohl-Schubert 8 The geishia- selection 9 Messias O/T And Choral no.31-Handel 10 The Calif of Bagdad O/T 11 Zampa O/T 12 Country girl-selection-Monkton 13 Faust-potpourri-Gounod 14 O/T St Jetais Roi 15 Unknown No title 16 Potpourri Norma 17 Selection-Gioconda-Verdi 18 Blue Danube waltz-Guess who? 19 Lancers and London life 20 Title unknown 21 O/T Leichte Cavalry 22 Two pieces unknown titles 23 Jubel 24 O/T and aria Marriage of Figaro Mozart 25 Potpourri Somnambula 26 Carmen O/T 27 Eruehlingslied and des Koenies Greniere 28 A signal from Mars (B.Taylor) and Hiawatha march.
I have had a fax from Howard Centre in Baltimore but has has omitted to include his fax number (Or perhaps he borrowed one) could someone send the list to him as he has requested? if not I will post them.
I would like to buy for myself a monkey organ. I noticed that Wayne Edmonston has had a Molinari for sale for the last four years. I visited Wayne in February 1993 and noticed it then but I didn't take much interest in it. Has anyone else looked at it in detail? can anyone give me any more information on it? ( I have never heard of Molinari)
All the best from England. ------------------------------------------------- Brian Chesters
