Deagan Co. Anvils
By Gloria Schack

Enjoyed Mathew Caulfield's discussion of the NBC chimes and his mention of the Deagan Co.

Several years ago, at a Musical Box Society annual meeting, I attended a talk (workshop) by a long-term employee of the Deagan Co., who worked there til the very end. He told us Deagan had manufactured all the anvils ever made for use with the Anvil Chorus. Just last week, a close friend and MBSI member attended a concert in Orange County Calif. where the Anvil Chorus was played. Instead of an anvil, they used a triangle! Instead of "clang, clang," the notes were "tinkle, tinkle." If you happen to find an anvil at the next flea market, there's an orchestra in Calif. who sure could use one!
