Brian,

Way back in days of olde, I rebuilt a Schultz with the double pneumatic stack. Unfortunately, a wonderful new material had just appeared on the scene considered perfect for those tiny inner pneumatics. That wonderful new material was "perflex", but at that time, nobody knew it was a time bomb. It worked just great for quite a few years, then one by one, various of the notes began to fail.

I fully expect that even though the job was done some 15-20 years ago, I will likely end up getting it back sometime in the next year, to do it all over again. Your comments about redesigning the stack into more conventional form is interesting. Would you consider elaborating on what it is you do, so I can be better prepared when the inevitable arrives on the scene? Perhaps even an article for the AMICA Bulletin?

Regards, and many thanks for the tip.

Terry
