Pouch Leather
By Al Pebworth

Is anyone using the thin "Chrome Pneumatic-CPL" hairsheep leather as sold by the Leather Supply House for pouches? What is the difference to be expected by using this leather? For thirty years, I have always used the thin German Tan leathers. I know that the CPL will end up thicker than the German, but in the past have had to use German Tan which was thicker than I desired, and usually in foot pumpers. The CPL does cost less than the German Tan, but in the end, does it really, considering the time that it takes to do a set of pouches. The cost of the leather is not a substantial item. The performance and lasting qualities are what counts.
Gee, maybe I have already answered my own question.
