Player Piano Parts Available
By Joyce Brite
I have received some inquiries from my previous post concerning the player piano parts that my friend Al has, and I have since learned some additional information. A few years back, he bought a couple of truckloads of parts from a piano tuner in Colorado who went out of business. The piano tuner would remove the inner workings of the players and set them aside. Unfortunately, he didn't bother to mark what brand of piano he removed them from. Al kept the parts he could use, mainly the Gulbransen. (Al knows of only one other man besides himself who will work on Gulbransen pianos.) Al has the insides of a dozen or so player pianos but he doesn't know what brand they are. (They're probably the brands that everyone is looking for too!) We need a knowledgeable person who can identify these unknown brands for him.
I am certain that Al has more player piano parts lying around than just those, but they are the ones about which he is most concerned, especially since he has no use for them.
I will keep forwarding parts inquiries to Al and, hopefully, he can locate some of these items.
Happy Holidays to all! -- Joyce Brite
