Jim Canavan: That _is_ an unusual set of rolls. My guess is they were punched using a single-hole frame punch, like the Leabarjan machine, by a skilled and dedicated music-lover (possibly even a pianist). They are not likely to be "live-recordings" since the penciled expression notations include values for adjusting the paper Tempo manually.
The hours of labor that went into your 1927 rolls are equaled by today's hours of labor transcribing manuscript to Midi performance files. I'm thinking of the fine Ragtime performances created by member <JohnRoache@aol.com> and available via <haley@ragtimers.org>.
What titles do you have? Could you provide an audio cassette recording of the rolls, pumped by you?!
