Those lovely Aeolian valves
By Larry Fisher
Hi all,
Mayhaps some of you can help me with my memory of things here before I go out on this call. Aeolian player mechanism, mid 60's vintage or so, auto rewind is real sensitive. I'm assuming the bleed holes on the plastic bodied valves are clogged or partially blocked causing the valves to trigger with even the slightest of leakage around the two holes either side of the tracker bar. I know the roll to be good on the edges and I blew out the tubing and it seems ok. My queery is where are the bleed holes located on those plastic bodied valves? Do I have to crack them open to clean them or can I manipulate a very small wire up into the tubing connection to maybe get lucky and dislodge the blockage? Thanks
