1995 Musical Box Society Orlando Meeting
By Beatrice Robertson
Hi folks:
I haven't had a lot of time lately, as you might understand, but I did want to do an update on the Orlando Musical Box Society meeting. We currently have 455 registrations from 15 countries, with a 15,000 sq. ft. Mart completely sold out, and an Exhibit that will blow you away. We recently accepted one of the premier miniature collections - 18K gold bird boxes (Rochat and Bruguier), Early Snuff boxes in cases not to be believed, and neat stuff like musical keys, seals, vinaigrettes, and etui. Now, if you are as country as I, you will understand. I have just spent a week on the phone getting definitions for some of these items as I was tapping the catalog out on the computer. (If anyone suggests I ever do this again, I have asked to be committed.) However, if you are going to be in Florida (in spite of hurricanes and yes, it is wet down here) this will be a meeting that will be remembered. Even if you are not coming to convention, you are certainly welcome at the Saturday afternoon Exhibit and Mart. And if you would like to know what all the fuss is about, and would like to join the Musical Box Society Intl., please E-Mail me and I will send an application right out. We have great publications - Thanks to Angelo Rulli - and are moving forward! We even know what a modem and midi is! Look forward to seeing many of you in Orlando. Please say "Hi" if you are Online.
