MBSI Conference in Orlando
By Beatrice Robertson
Hey Jody - what a great job you are doing. It's such fun to read articles and mail from people I have heard about or have met along the way. If anyone is interested in Nancy Fratti's school, I've been twice and will be going again next summer (you can always learn more from Joe Roesch) and thoroughly enjoyed it. But you need to be at least somewhat mechanically competent or you'll be in deep by Tuesday!
Any questions about MBSI in Orlando can be directed to me - we have nearly 400 registrations now, and the Exhibition is going to be fabulous. We will have old instruments large and small, as well as representative displays from the Ramey's, Mike Ames, Enesco, and Reuge, as well as hand made items including Charlie Hind's exceptional music box. The exhibit and a special mart is open to the public on Saturday afternoon, and we have gotten several antique and collector publications to announce the affair. It should be an excellent introduction to mechanical music for the people that attend.
I wrote to Larry Smith directly to try to get his MBSI membership handled so he can come to convention if he wants to. Let me know if I can provide any other assistance.
I'll try to get some articles for you after convention - needless to say, I'm a little busy now. I usually spend my first few minutes at the computer (at 5:30 or 6:00 am) Online, then get busy. Would you be interested in the Exhibit list when I finish it?
Keep up the great job!! It is really appreciated. Beatrice Robertson
