JEFFD.MID - Midi Dump List
By Robbie Rhodes
Will Dahlgren reported to me that his Midi program, Cakewalk Pro version 4.0e 11/27/91, displayed no lyrics, and that his auxillary program, MF2ASC, which converts Midi file to Cakewalk-ascii, also didn't list any lyrics. It seems Cakewalk just throws them away!
Here is a truncated listing of the file contents. If you have a utility for viewing binary data files, such as TreeView, you can see all the lyric text, preceded by FF 05 nn, where nn is the length of the string.

Now I'm *really* curious: what programs besides MasterTracks *will* display lyrics? And synchronized with the chords, just like on a piano roll?? Please let us know.
