Theatre Organ Relay Systems
By Jody Kravitz

Dale,
I get PIPORG-L here and archive it "for reference". I
will, once in a while, do keyword searches in it. I was
hoping to find out what kind of relay system the Pasedena
City College's (.aka. LATOS's) theatre organ had. That organ
can support "duets", where one performer's data is pre-recorded
in MIDI format and then the second performer's part is played
"live" at the cosole. The implication is that there can be a
"phantom" console, as the stop settings from the MIDI playback
affect (or can be made to) only the keyboard data from the MIDI
playback. I didn't find anytyhing in my recent searches.
Before I post there, does anyone here know anything about this ?

W/R/T moderating, spamming, etc, I have to say that PIPORG's
list server only accepting articles from members is a great idea.
If I switch this over to a more automated digest generation, I'll
try to remember that. I find it interesting and instructive that
they decided to keep it as a mailing list.

To make our index more useful, I often change the "headline" at
the top from what the submission actually has in its Subject: line.
Right now its a managable task. I'd invite those of you who are
replying to articles in previous digests to edit in a Subject: line
that would be useful to someone doing a keyword search on the titles
6 months from now!

Jody
