Comments on Automatic Music Digest
By Robin Pratt
Dear Jody, I want to thank you for the super job you are doing transcribing all of the good and other materials we have been sending in. Although much of the MIDI etc is out of reach for me, I am at least arriving late with my computer literacy. If someone calls on the telephone and asks if I can do a particular function (on the computer) and I say "How you do dat?" They usually say, "Forget it, I'll mail it." Anyway, as Editor/Publisher of the AMICA Bulletin, I KNOW what it is about to assemble submitted information. Keep going...It is a pleasure to find the articles on line. By the way, I personally don't EXPECT you to have something new and hot for us to read EVERY day! It is always a nice surprise when it is there! So who wants Pizza seven days a week anyway? Oh well,...at least you don't have to do classified ads....................hmmmm.
Sincerely, Robin Pratt (PIANOLA)
[ Robin, [ I really appreciate the positive feedback. I was unaware that you [ were the Editor/Publisher of the AMICA Bulletin. Its probably time [ for me to get my checkbook out and get on YOUR mailing list! Robbie [ Rhodes just published AMICA's membership secretary's address. Perhaps [ this would be a good time for some additional info on AMICA, including [ cost of membership, organizational goals, etc ? [ [ W/R/T (with respect to) computers, MIDI, etc., you are in good company. [ Its truly wonderful that email has become "turnkey" enough that it is no [ longer the private domain of computer science graduate students. [ [ Within the group that reads this digest, there are a wide range of computer [ literacy, ranging from those of us who write "system" programs, to others [ who are just learning how to send e-mail. I want to encourage you and [ others reading this digest to ask for definitions, clarifications, procedures, [ or whatever w/r/t computers, MIDI, etc. The answers will bore a few of [ the readers but I think we'll be forgiven if we improve the overal literacy [ of our participants. [ [ Jody
