Introduction
By Dick Beery
Greetings to all..
My name is Dick Beery and I have been collecting and rebuilding various types of player pianos for the past 15 years...I am a member of AMICA and belong to the Midwest Chapter, but due to my electronics business I am not able to be active in the group on a regular basis. I have have 10 pianos currently in various states of repair and operation. I will post later with more information on my collection when I have more time. I am enjoying reading all of the information on this mailing list.
There are three items I would like to talk about before I sign off. 1. What can we do to get AMICA to have email addresses part of our membership information.
2. I am currently finishing building a Music room/greenhouse/workshop for use when I do eary retirement and turn to piano and photography full time. The room is designed with a balcony suitable for a pipe organ. I would like to put the word out of me interest in finding a player organ that needs rebuilding. This is a new area for me so need any advice and info anyone can give me.
3. My family is going on vacation the last part of June. to Los Angeles and I am agreeing to do what they want if they will give time for looking at some player collections. Can any of you tell me what colllections are available in the Los Angeles area? Both private and public that are open to the public? Thanks in advance for any info...
