Greetings automuse, Eurton can rebuilt a piano motor. I had a turbine
pump armature rewound and balanced by them and they did a good job at a
reasonable price. There is really nothing difficult about an induction
motor and any motor shop should be able to rewind one. Replacing
sleeve bearings is also not difficult. Rebuilding a worn motor shaft
can be expensive but is usually not necessary.
What gets expensive and what can cause trouble is repair to something
like a start switch, although this is what I find the easiest to do
myself. For some reason, most shops are used to installing replacement
parts and have trouble when a replacement is not available, even if the
repair needed is simple. People are just not used to the old over-built
designs that can be kept working almost forever without new parts.
